C-3PO is one of the most enduring characters in the Star Wars saga, having appeared in all nine films of the Skywalker saga. This 2021 stamp provides a modern, detailed portrait of the fastidious protocol droid. Programmed for etiquette and translation, C-3PO is often a source of comic relief due to his pessimistic outlook and his tendency to state the odds of failure. However, his linguistic skills and his unwavering loyalty to his companions, particularly R2-D2, have proven to be indispensable. The stamp's design, with C-3PO set against a backdrop that suggests the interior of a Rebel base, captures his iconic golden sheen and his slightly bewildered expression.
