D-O, introduced in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, is a droid built by a Jedi hunter on the planet Pasaana. He is a skittish and endearing character who, after being discovered by BB-8, joins the Resistance. His design, a unicycle-like wheel supporting a cone-shaped head, is unique among the droids of the saga. D-O's speech is initially fragmented, reflecting his long deactivation, but he gradually becomes more expressive. The stamp's depiction of D-O against a desert-like background is a nod to his origins. His inclusion in the 2021 Droids stamp set highlights the ongoing creativity in droid design within the Star Wars universe.
