This stamp is part of a set of four that pays tribute to the canines who serve in the U.S. military. The stylized, geometric illustration by DKNG Studios captures the noble and alert character of the German Shepherd. The red, white, and blue color palette reinforces the patriotic theme. The first-day-of-issue ceremony was held at the American Philatelic Society Stamp Show in Omaha, Nebraska, highlighting the importance of these four-legged heroes.
